In this week’s post, we will be featuring a personal favorite vehicle of mine, the Mazdaspeed 3. The Mazdaspeed 3 was produced from 2007–2013 and only came in a hatchback with a 6-speed manual transmission from the factory. Mazda put out two different generations of the Speed 3. The Speed 3 looked much like its sibling, the Mazda 3 hatchback, but with a whole different beast under the hood.
Traditionally, the Mazda 3 was made with a 2.0L 4-cylinder motor and would produce around 145 horsepower. This was a very reliable and safe vehicle, but for the people out there who wanted a little more, there was the Mazdaspeed 3. The Speed 3 came with a 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder motor and produced 263 horsepower. This was over 100 horsepower more, and it performed like it.
The Mazdaspeed 3, however, was unfortunately discontinued after 2013, and there were no promises from Mazda of another generation. Above is a photo of my 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 which has had some extensive work done on it not only under the hood, but on the exterior and interior of the vehicle as well. Let us know what you think!
