Paint protection film and ceramic coating serve different purposes. Paint protection film provides physical protection against rock chips, road debris, and minor abrasions, while ceramic coating enhances gloss, improves water repellency, and makes routine washing easier.

Many vehicle owners choose both. Paint protection film protects against physical damage, while ceramic coating helps maintain your vehicle’s appearance and simplifies ongoing care.

The lifespan of Paint protection film depends on the product, installation quality, driving conditions, and routine maintenance. Yes, paint protection film can enhance the overall look of an older vehicle. Your older car may require some additional paint correction steps prior to film installation and can be discussed with MDM’s owners Mitch or Brian.

First 30 days

1. Do not push or touch water spots in the film. Allow 14 days for the film to dry before returning to your Local dealer for a final inspection.
2. Never touch exposed edges of the film. This can leave air pockets or debris under the film, which will cause damages to the adhesive.
3. Avoid extreme heat, rain, and car washes for the first 14 days to allow the film to fully cure.

Ongoing maintenance

1. Avoid using pressure washers, brushes, and car wash stations.
2. When hand washing, use a microfiber mit or sponge. It is best to take your vehicle back to Mobile Detail Masters where it was installed so that they can advise you on proper care. MDM also has upkeep and maintenance plans that provide convenience and professional care for your PPF.
3. To maintain the film’s appearance and prevent buildup on the edges, wash the vehicle at least once every two weeks.
4. Never use a buffer or orbital polisher on paint protection film.

Waxing your car is not required prior to a paint protection film service. Mobile Detail Masters performs a single stage polish to the areas to be covered. However, depending on your vehicle’s condition, MDM may suggest some paint correction steps if necessary.

Plan for us to have your vehicle for 3 to 4 days depending on the type of service you’re choosing (full front vs track package vs full car).

In the event your paint protection has a crack or yellowing, XPEL Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film offers a 10-year warranty. Our team will coordinate with XPEL directly and ensure the film is replaced under the terms of the warranty.
